Verizon Creator Studio

The Activation
Verizon wanted Hungrybox to promote their upcoming IRL mobile livestreaming application (tentatively titled Creator Studio) by utilizing his livestream following and presence at an event.
What We Did
Due to the timing of contact with Verizon, this lined up perfect with an event called Genesis 9, a Smash Bros major series that is often one of the largest events every year. We did three separate IRL streams across three days, with the final stream on Sunday utilizing a closed alpha of Verizon's new application.
My Role
Upon being brought into the project, I started by brainstorming potential content segments that Hungrybox could do live IRL at Genesis. I started by concepting five different segments we could produce live and built the first draft of the pitch deck for Verizon corporate. Upon getting all five segments green-lit, I built a schedule with the resources we had available to fill the weekend. I then received equipment from Verizon to be the technical lead and producer, where I tested and learned all equipment and software, then running the broadcast live at the event.
Results
Verizon absolutely loved the broadcasts! We did two broadcasts utilizing our normal IRL setup with custom layouts promoting Verizon, and a third one using Verizon's Creator Studio app (currently in alpha). I remained in contact with Verizon and the project team at Team Liquid over the weekend to forward scheduling information, provide feedback, and run social media promotion on the official TL Twitter.

Warner Bros / The Matrix Resurrections

The Activation
Team Liquid was tasked with creating a unique integration to advertise both The Matrix Resurrections and the restaurant Denny's. Hungrybox was chosen as the talent for the activation to perform a stunt live on stream for the promotion.
What We Did
We utilized local actors in the Orlando area to act out a full skit where Hungrybox is abducted on stream and transformed into one of the agents from The Matrix. This integration also included a series of viral video segments and social media posts, teasing the final event on stream.
My Role
I assisted in coming up with the idea and segment for the live skit on Hungrybox's stream. Once this idea was set, I fully concepted and directed four viral clips to place into Hungrybox's YouTube videos, working directly with Warner Bros and Denny's corporate on approvals. On location I then filmed a fifth video, editing it myself as well and released it on social media as a launch day teaser with a turnaround time in mere hours. During the final livestream I ran point as the director, helping guide all of the actors and talent to perform each bit of the stunt live on stream.
Results
The activation was a HUGE success! The amount of moving parts in this was absolutely staggering, and I lead the successful delivery of 4 viral video ads, a social media video, the full 2 hour livestream and stunt, and a follow-up highlights video on YouTube and TikTok. The live stunt and partnership made the news by receiving nearly half a million views and 110,000 signups.

Coinbox 2023

The Activation
Hungrybox was continuing his popular series of Coinbox Smash Bros tournaments in a partnership with Coinbase, and we needed an exciting way to announce the upgrades to the 2023 year of events.
What We Did
The team together spent approximately two months in coming up with new upgrades to the 2023 series of events. This included deciding which upgrades were appropriate and fit best with our community, making a budget, and getting it approved by Coinbase. Then when finalized, we decided to announce it live on stream at Genesis 9, during the final Top 8 segment.
My Role
I assisted in generating ideas for the upgrades to the 2023 Coinbox, but then ran point on the announcement reveal at Genesis 9. We had only 7 days from the time Coinbase gave final approval on our plans until Genesis started. During this time I concepted a variety of announcement strategies and skits, and we came up with the idea to potentially reveal it on the finals day at Genesis. We didn't get approval from Genesis on the spot until 4 days before the spot would air, and Hungrybox had already left for the event. I strategically pivoted to a short form content reveal, with a 15 second 3D animation that 1UP could finish in time. To accompany this, I worked with Hungrybox and the media directors of Genesis at the event to have Hungrybox reveal it live in person on stage before he was slated to play, and reveal the animation teaser made by 1UP.
Results
We were able to reveal the 2023 plans for Coinbox live on stage to thousands of people! Along with the 1,000+ watching and cheering in-house, the Twitch broadcast had over 80,000 viewers watching! Coordinating social posts with this announcement lead to an additional 625,000+ impressions and 150,000+ video views!

Coinbox 2022

The Activation
In one of the starting activations between Team Liquid and Coinbase, we had a budget to supercharge Hungrybox's weekly tournament series! The Coinbox ended up being a groundbreaking $2,000 prize pool weekly tournament, but we needed a way to announce it.
What We Did
During the final event of Hungrybox's tournament series (before it was set to change to the Coinbox), we revealed a trailer live on stream announcing the changes. We also coordinated social posts between Hungrybox, Team Liquid, and Coinbase as this all happened to get the word out as effective as possible.
My Role
We had roughly two weeks to come up with and complete the announcement before it went live. I concepted and scripted out a skit that Hungrybox would be able to film remotely, passing over to me to edit. Through each stage of this process I got clearance from Coinbase, ensuring that this matched their brand vision and that it would land well with the community. This was a bit earlier in the pandemic before online tournaments got bigger prize pools, so I made a skit where Hungrybox's game console and connection were supercharged thanks to the help of Coinbase, along with a personal message to him and his fans. I produced the props used in the shoot, shipped them to Hungrybox, guided him remotely through multiple recording takes, and edited the trailer myself.
Results
This announcement truly changed the community. Prize pools are often small in Smash Bros, and new competitors are usually overlooked in the online scene. With so many events shutting down due to covid (this was around the time of the omicron wave), we hit the perfect time to release this announcement, and I was able to do it in a fun way that felt at home within his community.

Coinbase (Mainstage 2022)

The Activation
Coinbase approached Team Liquid with an interesting proposition late in 2022. As they were partnered with a Smash Bros major called Mainstage 2022, they had the opportunity for an activation there, but no plan. They opted to let Team Liquid use this activation opportunity in a way that included Coinbase.
What We Did
With only about a month leading up to the event, we concepted multiple iterations of activations to do at Mainstage. I helped come up with potential booth designs, concepts for show matches on stage, and much more. Due to the time leading up to the event and scheduling conflicts, we opted to work on video content with Hungrybox, one of Team Liquid's Coinbase ambassadors.
My Role
Coinbase wanted the videos to feel natural and at home with Hungrybox and his community, along with finding unique ways to call out Coinbase and award usage on their platform. I concepted a series of videos, including a restructure of plans in under 24 hours at the event itself due to scheduling with our contracted videographer. In the end we filmed three different videos in under 2 hours. I scripted and concepted all three videos, and then worked directly with contract editors to get the videos edited and released within 2 weeks.
Results
Our three videos were fun, engaging, and released in record time! I was able to develop two unique gameshow type pieces of content, asking people from the floor of the event trivia questions, and awarding USDC on Coinbase to those who were correct. The three videos gathered over 115,000 views!
